The second section in Chapter 8 is "The Mindset Lectures." In this section Dweck shares notes from college students who say learning about and implementing the growth mindset has changed their lives for the better.Dweck suggests that developing a growth mindset is a better and more impactful solution to fixed thinking. Although it can be beneficial on an emotional level, cognitive therapy does not actively alter a person's mindset. Some people with fixed mindsets benefit from cognitive therapy, which teaches people how to deal with their extreme self-judgments in a reasonable way. That's why it's so important to actively practice the growth mindset. Therefore, it is likely that individuals may slip back into old habits. Dweck skips the introduction this time around and goes straight into Section 1, "The Nature of Change." She reminds readers that new mindsets don't replace old ones. The final chapter of Mindset has 13 sections.
